About the shop
What’s in a Name?
Perry Rubber Bike Shop opened in historic Savannah, Georgia, May 2010. The shop’s name comes from the famous French race the Paris Roubaix also known as the “Hell of the North,” known for its challenging cobblestone. The name was selected before our location was chosen. It’s a fun coincidence that “Perry Rubber Bike Shop” ended up on the cobblestone paved Perry Lane at the intersection with Savannah’s well known Bull Street. A few years after opening, we learned that our building was also home to a bicycle shop in the early 2oth century.
How do you ride?
The Right Bike for You
There are many bikes to choose from. From mountain bikes that handle off-road environments to high-performance road bikes; to cruisers meant for casual rides and the beach; to stripped-down city bikes for travel to work or class; and all the way to electric bikes for those who want that extra assist. It’s all a matter of intention and preference, especially for beginners who’ve never bought a bike before. Purchasing a specific type of bike lets you make the most of both its design and the money you pay for it.
